L'ambiance y était très conviviale,et tout le personnel, sans exception,faisait preuve d'un grand professionalisme.Toujours avec une discrétion empreinte d'élégance,chacun des employés de l'hotel était au service des hôtes,et ce, pour rendre le plus heureux possible, leur séjour dans ce merveilleux établissement.Le Grand Hôtel, est et restera,le fer de lance du bon goût et du romantisme dans le Salzburgerland!

ALL of them were Great Especially ( I am writing these names down coz we had more dialogue with these gentelmen & ladies Jthan the other staff)
- TAMAS (I hope I spelled the name right, he was the gentelmen serving at the main dining room) he was All the time Smiling, very polite, Very fast
- The other gentelmen again at this dining room –we dont know the name- who adviced us great wines to our taste which we drunk all J)
- The young waiter- he may be from russia dont know his name
- The DRİVERS who took us to City Express every day-very polite people
- Ladies at the reception
- Cleaning Lady- CEVRIYE (the blonde good looking lady) from Kosova I thnik she was from Kosova J) Her husband drives the bus
- The blond lady serving at the other dining room with green chair fabric decoration.
And everybody else really nice and friendly
I dont know where you found all these nice people all at once, if I had a hotel I would steal them from you…!

My husband and son and family friend have just returned from a week (09/02/ - 16/02) staying with you. They booked 2 rooms, the sauna suite and a single room with mountain view.
I just wanted to thank you so much for your fabulous hotel and your wonderful, kind, friendly, attentive staff. It was a perfect time for them all and I had many regular excited phone calls from my son about not only his wonderful skiing but also the room, health suite, food, view from the balcony, lounge and kind staff. I know my husband and family friend felt exactly the same.
They loved it so much that they have booked to return in 2 weeks time for a week starting 02/03/13! They are taking the suite again and also this time a single occupancy lake view with balcony for our family friend. All non smoking.

A Wonderful Holiday for the Cook Family!
I am writing to thank you for making our holiday so wonderful. The room we had, with the Lake view and a balcony, was just perfect. We were given Room 127.
The vegetarian food was, as always, just fantastic and both my husband and I have nothing but praise for your spectacular hotel.
Marco entertained us so very well, the staff were, as always, so friendly and helpful. Your Restaurant manageress remembered our name and had reserved us one of the best tables, with a Lake view, which was very much appreciated by us. Our only complaint is that we could not stay longer with you!

We want to tell you just how delighted we were with our stay at the Grand Hotel Zell Am See.
The Lake Residence room you reserved for us met every one of our needs. The room was spacious, light and had fabulous views of the lake and mountains out of every window. The weather was so good while we where there that we enjoyed sitting out on our balcony just taking in the view.
The meals were delicious. Mandy in the dining room took very good care of us both at breakfast and dinner. On the days we weren't off hiking we had lunch on your patio by the lake. It was my birthday on September 25 and it could not have been a more enjoyable day. Imagine my surprise and delight when we arrived for dinner to see the table decorated and be given champagne! It make it extra special. Daniella also gave me some wonderful treatments in the Spa. Believe it or not, I even had some terrific swims in the lake!
We will remember our time at the Grand Hotel very fondly. We will certainly recommend it to our friends and family.

Our upgrade to the Wellness room was very special gesture from your hotel. One of us, who did not ski, could really enjoy all the Spa service during the day and ones who skied had excellent treatment apres ski. The two rooms we had were outstanding with breathtaking views of the mountains.
The Reception and restaurant staff were, as always, excellent and we could not fault our stay in any way. This was our second stay in your hotel wihich is very unusual for us as we very rarely return to the same place. The Grand Hotel was even more special this time we would very much like to come back again.

Great hotel with wonderful staff
Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Zell am See and will definitely be returning next year. We traveled with our two children of 9 and 14 and had booked one of the grand suites which had a separate bedroom and a second double bed just off the living room and a terrace with an absolutely beautiful view of the lake. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, efficient and friendly, especially the restaurant staff. The food was excellent and very well presented and even the children's menus varied from the standard "chicken nuggets" or "spaghetti bolognaise" offered in most other hotels. The hotel has a really nice bar with live music in the evening where you can enjoy a drink beside the open fire. All in all a fabulous place to stay and good value for money.

We were travelling with our family for Christmas and all enjoyed the Grand Hotel very much indeed. The Christmas programme was very good. The members of staff, without exception, were first class - friendly, attentive and helpful while staying very professional. The facilities in our room were cared for daily to a very high standard. Amazing Grand Hotel Zell am See
We loved everything about this hotel!! Everything was fantastic from the staff, to the service to the hotel itself. We will definitely be going back again!! We were there during Christmas and the hotel made it a magical time for our two young children (who were treated like princesses!!). I would and have already recommended this hotel to all my friends. An excellent Christmas & New Year family ski base Enlarge letters
The Grand Hotel was excellent in all respects, with a very helpful and professional team running all areas. The regular shuttle to the ski lift was very helpful and shopping/bars was a short walk away. The food, rooms, view and spa were all outstanding. We will be returning in future years.

Far exceeded expectations
Stayed for 3 nights the weekend before Christmas. Firstly, I can't rate the staff highly enough. We were on half-board and arrived quite late at 9.15pm and had missed dinner. Without us even asking the receptionist told to make our way to the bar where we were served with a huge cold meat, cheese and bread platter. Most hotels would have shrugged and left us to fend for ourselves but the Grand couldn't do enough for us. The restaurant and bar staff were equally good.
We booked a Comfort Mountain View room and had a room in the Wellness wing of the hotel. The view was knockout - we were able to watch skiiers from our bed! I suspect the room itself had been refurbished relatively recently as the bathroom was lovely with a walk in shower/bath. The only real gripe about the room was that the bed wasn't the most comfortable and a bit hard, and with only one pillow per person (easily rectifiable though!). Couldn't work the heating either but as the room was lovely and warm it wasn't an issue. The location is great too - on the lake and everything in town is less than a 10 minute walk away.
Half board is sometimes risky but in this case it paid off - it was only an extra 10 Euro a night and varied between buffet and a la carte. The a la carte was particularly good - 5 courses! Breakfast was pretty good too - perhaps not a massive choice but plenty of food and we never left hungry. The bar was great too - real fire and a piano player / singer (whose first language was definitely not English!) and lots of comfy sofas.
The hotel also has a pool, sauna and steam room free for guest use and a "Grand Spa" which is 22 Euro per person per day. We only used the free pool which was a little chilly, as was the jacuzzi but had amazing views out over the lake and snowy mountains. Be warned though - it's a naked sauna with swimsuits not allowed! We were too British to brave it in the end!
For a four star hotel the Grand is fanatstic - we usually stay in five star hotels so before travelling I was a bit concerned about the standard but I really couldn't fault it. As a hotel it was far better than the five star Sheraton we stayed in in Salzburg during the same trip.

Very pleasant experience
We have experienced a very nice Christmas stay experience in December 2010 with my parents and it was unforgettable. Zell am See is beautiful in winter and the whole atmosphere contributed to our pleasant holiday. The staff, menu and the location were excellent and for the price of the special Christmas package we really received an adequate value. Storngly recommended.

An outstanding Christmas/New Year family ski base
Our first visit to this hotel and village exceeded our expectations and made an outstanding holiday for 2 adults, 4 teenagers and one 8 year old.
From the warm welcome at check-in to our final departure, the staff were superb and helpful.
We have no criticism of any areas. The rooms, facilities and food (especially) were excellent. We also appreciated the short walk into town, the hotel shuttle to the ski lift and various extra optional activities (guided walks, Santa for the children, performers in the bar/restaurant) and the spa.
We usually ski in Whistler, Canada, but will definitely be back to the Grand in future.

Made our Christmas very special
Rather than brave International airports to return home for Christmas we booked a 5 night Christmas package and had a fabulous time at the Grand Hotel. The staff were the most helpful ever encountered. The comfortable lake view room was huge with views of mts and lake. A 4 day ski pass was included with the Spa providing good end of day relaxation before a 5 course gourmet dinner. Various activities were offered during the week -family ski day, sleigh ride, etc. A fruit basket was in the room on arrival and a Christmas gift was delivered by the Hotel "angel" on Christmas eve. The hotel was grandly decorated for Christmas and live music heard every night. The area is beautiful and we look forward to returning to the Hotel in the spring.

Fantastic experience
When we arrived we were assigned a room that didn't have a direct view onto the lake, so we asked at reception if there were any alternatives and they couldn't be more willing to help - our new room was fantastic with direct views onto the lake. The breakfast was the best I've had for a while, and the 5-course dinner was truly excellent. The restaurant & reception staff were very friendly and always had time for us. Thoroughly recommended.

Spending Christmas away from family and friends is a decision not easily made but this Christmas 2010 we decided to skip international air travel to get home to the US (very smart choice as it turned out) and chose to have a grown-up hassle-free Christmas for just for the 2 of us. What a good choice we in made booking the Christmas Package after finding your hotel on the Internet.
Our upgraded room, No 657, was almost as big as our Amsterdam apt and a lot more comfortable. The view was spectacular. The helpful Alex and in-room fruit basket made us feel relaxed immediately. A trip to the Spa for the herbal and salt spa plus the Sauna became a daily feature. The dinners were incredible - please thank the chef - would have been a Michelin star in our book. We will treasure our Christmas gift delivered on Christmas Eve by the Hotel "Angel". The hotel had a lovely Christmas feeling with the decorations, trees, flowers, cookies and mulled wine and music.
The area offered lots to see and do even if you were not skiing everyday. The daily activity newsletter was very helpful in planning the day and offered extra activities. We are still sorry we missed the sleigh ride. We are hoping to return in the spring or early summer to do some hiking. We will definitely return to your hotel and the one in Croatia looks interesting as well.
