at the GRAND HOTEL ZELL AM SEE
On Friday, 11 September 2026, visual art and music will come together in an extraordinary way at the GRAND HOTEL ZELL AM SEE. Artist Ulrike Muehlbacher and renowned Hammond organist T.C. Pfeiler will present a joint live painting and live music performance, accompanied by special guest Michael Honzak on drums.
Guests can look forward to a unique cultural event in Zell am See, where music will not only be heard but also brought to life on canvas.
When music becomes art
Originally from Freistadt in Upper Austria, Ulrike Muehlbacher once again demonstrates her artistic versatility with this special project. While T.C. Pfeiler performs on his original 1957 Hammond B3 organ, the artist will take inspiration from the sounds, rhythms and atmosphere unfolding live on stage.
Unique works of art will be created before the audience’s eyes. Each musical moment will find its way onto the canvas – spontaneously, intuitively and never to be repeated. Art and live music will merge to create one shared experience.
An extraordinary live performance
One of the highlights of the evening will be Ulrike Muehlbacher’s intuitive “blind” painting. Without looking at the canvas, she will create fascinating compositions on black or white backgrounds.
Guided entirely by her perception, emotions and the inspiration of the music, she will allow the audience to witness how sounds, movement and feeling are transformed into a work of art.
The distinctive sound of the Hammond B3
The musical inspiration will be provided by T.C. Pfeiler on his original Hammond B3 organ from 1957. This legendary instrument is renowned for its warm, powerful and unmistakable sound.
T.C. Pfeiler looks back on a musical career spanning several decades. As part of this tour, the ensemble will perform at selected venues where the musician has appeared over the past 50 years. He also shares a long history with the GRAND HOTEL ZELL AM SEE: his first performances at our hotel took place in 1987.
His return to Zell am See will therefore be more than a musical reunion – it will also offer a special connection to the history of our hotel.
Michael Honzak as special guest
Michael Honzak will accompany the performance on drums. His rhythmic sensitivity will complement the characteristic sound of the Hammond organ and add another layer of energy to the interplay between music and painting.
The combination of the Hammond B3, drums and intuitive live painting will create an atmosphere that promises to surprise and inspire the audience.
A cultural event at the GRAND HOTEL ZELL AM SEE
With its historic atmosphere and unique location on a private peninsula in Lake Zell, the GRAND HOTEL ZELL AM SEE provides a memorable setting for this exceptional evening of art and live music in Zell am See.
Look forward to a live performance in which creativity emerges in the moment and can never be recreated in exactly the same way. Experience how music becomes movement, movement becomes colour and colour becomes a unique work of art.
